As the oil spill continues to reek havoc on the livelihoods of countless residents and families of the Gulf Coast, an unwelcome reality also seeps in:

With the debilitated state of the economy and its ever-tightening tug on our blue collars, most of us can't afford to leave our respective jobs and responsibilities to do as our hearts compel us--drop everything and dedicate the time, consideration, and initiative to our coast that BP and our own government overwhelmingly lack.  So we do what we can, right? 

WE GET PISSED OFF!  We protest.  We stay as informed as possible. We voice our opinions through various social networking sites; engage in open dialogue with strangers and friends alike at our favorite watering holes.  And essentially, we do what true New Orleanians have learned to do best:

WE PARTY every chance we get and keep our spirits as high as the clouds until things get better. 

WE FIND OUR SILVER LINING in good food, laughter, and libation. From the joys of these simple things, we are thus invigorated and inspired.

It is this very attitude that conceived  'SWAMP SECEDES!' a celebratory revolt, named in tribute to the spirit of the Gulf Coast and a hot, hot summer only Nawlins can provide.  Please join us for a swamp-style feast of the senses in our new home space!
